Why buyer fees matter to sellers
Buyers think about the total they pay, not your asking price. A £10 item can cost the buyer £14 or more once the fee and postage are added. If things aren’t selling, price with the buyer’s total in mind, or offer bundle discounts so postage is shared across several items.
Optional extras
Vinted sells optional promotion tools, such as Bumps, which push a listing up the feed for a few days. You don’t need them to sell. Try better photos and pricing first.

Does Vinted take a cut from sellers?
No. There are no listing fees and no selling fees. If you sell an item for £20, £20 goes to your Vinted balance.
What is the Vinted Buyer Protection fee?
A fee the buyer pays on every purchase. It is a percentage of the item price plus a small fixed amount, roughly 3–8% plus 30p–80p. It covers refunds if the item doesn’t arrive or isn’t as described.
Are there any optional costs for sellers?
Yes. You can pay to promote listings with features such as Bumps or Wardrobe Spotlight. They are optional.
Do I pay tax on Vinted sales?
Not usually, if you are selling your own second-hand things for less than you paid. If you are buying to resell and take more than £1,000 a year, you may need to register with HMRC. Check GOV.UK for the current rules.
